In this talk, Erin will walk through the scientific rules for traveling in our universe and how we can break them! We’ll explore wormholes, hyperdrives, jump gates, and of course warp drives, talking about the science of each of them and the possibilities for the future.

We’ll go over how many of the sounds were created by legendary sound designer Ben Burtt—using archival footage and actual discussions with Ben. This talk includes an introduction into the actual methods, original recordings, and even a recreation of some of the popular effects.
